It’s over now, the cruelest end to a Blue Devils season since the last one. Maybe this is even worse. Last year’s team had a 25-6 record at the close of the regular season and a legitimate shot at doing Duke-type things in March, but when the global pandemic was declared, the NCAA Tournament was canceled a day later. So nobody got to enjoy March Madness. The Devils even received the small consolation of starring in the rebroadcast of the classic 1992 Elite Eight matchup with the Kentucky Wildcats....

Freeney, the victim of swindling by two former business associates who were convicted in 2013, claims the bank should be held liable for the actions of one of its former employees. Freeney’s attorneys announced the lawsuit Tuesday. ESPN’s Adam Schefter posted the statement on Twitter. CBS Los Angeles obtained the lawsuit, which was filed in State Superior Court, Los Angeles. A special session of the Florida Legislature passed the bill on Thursday and DeSantis chose to sign the bill into law in Brandon, Florida where the crowd chanted “Let’s go Brandon” after the signing ceremony. The chant “Let’s Go Brandon” is actually a code adopted by conservative Republicans for “F*** Joe Biden,” which has recently grown in popularity, the Associated Press reported. Though DeSantis said at a press conference after the signing ceremony that the Tampa suburb was only selected because he thought it was “a great American city and that the people here are fantastic,” his campaign said it chose Brandon as the location for the signing ceremony as a way to challenge the vaccine mandates issued by President Joe Biden’s administration, according to the AP....
