Rescheduling the game in Chapel Hill for Feb. 20 was the only date left on the schedule that would prevent either team from playing on consecutive nights.

Take a look at what’s in store for both teams, starting with this weekend. You’ll see that the Blue Devils have a particularly difficult three-day stretch where they’ll play at UNC, then face unbeaten Syracuse at home.

Though some may have called for the teams to play on consecutive nights around their already-scheduled game in Durham on March 8 (neither team has a game on the 7th or 9th), Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski said that was not going to happen.

"We always play the last game of the regular season and flip-flop home or away,” Krzyzewski said on a Sirius XM radio taping of Basketball and Beyond with Coach K, per comments transcribed by the Fayetteville Observer. “You're not going to play Saturday night, the last game here, then Sunday afternoon in Chapel Hill."

Extraordinary circumstances kept these teams from playing Wednesday’s game. Now, they’ll have to finish league play in a manner where there will be little time to catch their breath.
