Though Conner suffered the injury against Youngstown State, Cutcliffe is quite familiar with the running back’s work. Conner had a monster day against Duke last year, rushing 38 times for 263 yards and three touchdowns in a 51-48 Blue Devils win in double overtime.
There will be no such performances for the junior this season thanks to his torn MCL, but the 2014 ACC Player of the Year obviously made quite an impression on a rival coach.
