Watching the video gives a clear sense why the Drew League’s dunk contest is so much better than the NBA’s. Myriad off-the-wall, elbow-in-rim and between-the-legs dunks are all in there, with crazy iterations that make you rewind and see just exactly what the players did. No one is jumping over Kias in totally subtle product placements or blowing out candles on cupcakes.
My favorite was definitely Jonathan Clark’s standing backflip-to-two-handed dunk which is equal parts ridiculously athletic and totally impractical. All this video is missing is MC Rell.
