Instead of examining the fact that not all rappers write 100-percent of their own lyrics, lets dive right into the track, which is of course has two big sports references.

Not only is the cover of the track a picture of Blue Jay slugger Joe Carter celebrating his iconic World Series-winning home run in 1993. Carter’s home run lifted the Blue Jays over the Phillies, Meek Mill’s hometown baseball team. 

There’s also this nice little Michael Jordan reference:

“Back-to-back like I’m on the cover of Lethal Weapon.

Back-to-back like I’m Jordan ‘96-‘97.”

We’d be more willing to believe Drake writes his own reference if he used more obscure sports references, perhaps a photo of South Carolina’s back-to-back College World Series championships in 2010 and 2011 would be a good place to start.
