According to the Florida Times-Union, the Jaguars have hired the former Buffalo head coach to be their assistant head coach and offensive line coach.
It’s an obvious step down from Buffalo, but Marrone will still get his $4 million 2015 salary from the Bills, thanks to a three-day out clause in his contract he exercised Dec. 31, 2014.
Marrone will look to improve a horrendous Jaguars offensive line that allowed a NFL-worst 71 sacks, 13 more than the second-worst Redskins.
Marrone was 15-17 in two seasons with the Bills and will get to face his old team next season when the Jaguars take on the Bills in Week 7 in London, a part of the 2015 NFL International Series.
The Jaguars interviewed seven coaches for the offensive coordinator position to replace Jedd Fisch, and landed on Greg Olson.
