Earlier this week, Zucker announced his resignation after nine years at the media giant, due to his failure to disclose a relationship with a colleague during the investigation into former anchor Chris Cuomo.

“The stench of Jeff Zucker is finally leaving CNN. The air over there, the Radical Left will be happy to hear, is being made more ’environmentally friendly,’” the former president said in a Friday statement.

Trump and Zucker have been in embroiled in an ongoing feud. On Wednesday, Trump labeled Zucker a “world-class sleazebag.”

Trump also hit out at MSNBC in his Friday statement and namechecked Comcast CEO Brian Roberts for being among those “under the thumb of the Left.”

“The carbon footprint is looking better,” Trump said. “But the stench remains, and also at low-rated MSNDC where weak leaders like Brian Roberts of ‘Concast,’ who are under the thumb of the Left, don’t allow the truth to be told.”

In his Wednesday statement, Trump alleged that Zucker resigned due to CNN’s ratings, which is not the case.

“Jeff Zucker, a world-class sleazebag who has headed ratings and real-news-challenged CNN for far too long, has been terminated for numerous reasons, but predominantly because CNN has lost its way with viewers and everybody else,” Trump said.

He continued: “Now is a chance to put Fake News in the backseat because there may not be anything more important than straightening out the horrendous LameStream Media in our Country, and in the case of CNN, throughout the World. Jeff Zucker is gone—congratulations to all!”

Zucker’s abrupt exit has come as a shock to CNN staff this week.

“As part of the investigation into Chris Cuomo’s tenure at CNN, I was asked about a consensual relationship with my closest colleague, someone I have worked with for more than 20 years,” Zucker said in a statement emailed to staff.

“I acknowledged the relationship evolved in recent years. I was required to disclose it when it began but I didn’t. I was wrong. As a result, I am resigning today.”

Host Brian Stelter later confirmed on Twitter that the relationship is with CNN’s chief marketing officer Allison Gollust, who will remain working at the network.

Zucker and Trump’s contentious history dates back to the former president’s time hosting The Apprentice. At the time, Zucker was president of NBC Entertainment and made the decision to green-light the reality show.

However, things turned sour during Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016 when he infamously called CNN “fake news.”

Two months before he won the election, Trump tweeted: “Jeff Zucker failed @NBC and he is now failing @CNN.”

He also banned CNN reporter Jim Acosta from the White House, prompting the network to condemn the then-president’s “ongoing attacks on the press.”

“They are not only dangerous, they are disturbingly un-American. While President Trump has made it clear he does not respect a free press, he has a sworn obligation to protect it. A free press is vital to democracy, and we stand behind Jim Acosta and his fellow journalists everywhere,” the statement read at the time.

Fox News has also been celebrating Zucker’s exit and has dedicated about one segment per program to the departure of the competing network’s leader.
