While Wilkins will sit courtside this time, 21 years ago, in 1993, he was in London to play preseason games with the Hawks. And in that trip, Wilkins took a photo in front of the Tower Bridge (via Hawksblog.com).
Well, on this latest trip, Wilkins recreated the photo. Rocking the old school warmup, tossing a ball in the air, Wilkins snuck in the photo on Thursday morning after a rain-filled Wednesday.
Because of the wealth of talent in that era, Wilkins is one of the underappreciated greats. He couldn't get over that Larry Bird/Michael Jordan hump to win a title, but Wilkins put up serious numbers and left a ton of highlights. It's nice to have a look at Wilkins, back in his heyday, and the 2014 broadcaster and basketball ambassador.
