According to CBSSports.com, the 19-year-old Alvarez — at 6-3, 175 pounds — is seen as “a very athletic pitcher” who could grow into a top-of-the-rotation starter.
He becomes another in a line of Cuban players the Dodgers have signed recently, joining outfielder Yasiel Puig, third baseman/outfielder Alex Guerrero, infielder Hector Olivera and pitcher Pablo Fernandez.
