Crawford tore an oblique muscle in Monday’s game against the Giants. He was seen wincing in pain after sliding into third base on a triple in the second inning.

The 33-year-old is hitting .245/.260/.408 with one homer and three RBIs in 15 games for the NL West-leading Dodgers (12-7).

Crawford joins fellow outfielder Yasiel Puig on the disabled list. LA also has pitchers Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder), Brandon McCarthy (elbow), Kenley Jansen (foot) and Joel Peralta (dead arm) dealing with injuries. McCarthy is out for the season.

Hot-hitting Alex Guerrero will start in left field while Crawford recovers. Guerrero, 28, is batting .500/.500/1.273 with five home runs in just 24 plate appearances.
