The trio is expected to continue interviews into next week, and the Dodgers could have a skipper named within 10 days.

The club has been seeking a new manager since mutually parting ways with Mattingly on Oct. 22. Mattingly quickly found other work however, agreeing on Nov. 2 to manage the Marlins.

Kapler doesn’t have coaching or managerial experience in the majors, but the Dodgers farm director is a favorite within the organization and shares a strong belief in sabermetrics with the Dodgers front office, per Yahoo Sports.

Black has compiled a 649-713 record (.477 winning percentage) and never reached the playoffs in 8 1/2 seasons with the Padres. He was fired midway through this season after starting 32-33. He is well-regarded because of his easygoing nature and strong ability to relate with players, especially pitchers.

Roberts, a former major-league outfielder, was a finalist to becoming the Mariners manager this offseason. He’s worked under Dodgers VP Josh Byrnes when the two were with the Padres.
