The Texans quarterback responded late Tuesday to a social media post in which Tony Buzbee, a Houston lawyer, said a suit had been filed against Watson. The attorney’s wording, which came off as vague, didn’t specifically mention sexual assault or misconduct.
Houston’s Fox26 reports that the sexual assault suit is being filed on behalf of a masseuse who claimed a massage with Watson “went too far.”
Watson posted his response late Tuesday night, saying he’s focused on “clearing his name:”
Buzbee, a well-known Houston-based lawyer, has been involved in several lawsuits in the area and once said he was a “neighbor” to deceased former Texans owner Bob McNair.
Buzbee is also a failed Houston mayoral candidate, attempting to run against incumbent Mayor Sylvester Turner but falling drastically short in 2019.
Watson, 25, is in the midst of a messy divorce with the Texans organization, with reports indicating that he doesn’t plan to play with the franchise again.
