Doe claims the Knicks player and two friends drugged and sexually assaulted her in August 2013. Rose’s lawyers called for the mistrial after saying they had not received three text messages crucial to their case until Friday, the day Rose took the witness stand.

According to Deadspin, Doe’s lawyers claimed they provided the messages to the defense, a claim that U.S. District Court Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald asked them to prove.
Fitzgerald is reportedly also upset the blunder could push a new trial into the NBA’s regular season.
There is no timetable for a ruling on the motion.
